Know your zone: Increase your family's safety this hurricane season by using the SC Emergency Manager App

Hurricane Season officially begins June 1st! Many local government authorities have begun to use the first week to make sure local communities are prepared and have an emergency plan for their families.  They call this week "South Carolina Hurricane Preparedness Week".  In line with South Carolina's Hurricane Preparedness Week, South Carolina's Emergency Management Division (SCEMD), has released the 2019 Hurricane Guide as well as launched a handy mobile application that will instantly let the residents and visitors know their zone ahead of an emergency. This application allows coastal residents determine their zone based on their phone's location or by entering a physical address. This application can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
